We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Operations professional to join our team in Darwin, NT.


Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this full time permanent opportunity is a comprehensive role and is both on-water and shore based as required. In this position you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of all vessel operations and shore based requirements, coordinating (in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor) the operational program for personnel availability, vessel availability and maintenance routines.
 

In this role, you will:

  • Act as primary contact for the Royal Australian Navy for operational requirements
  • Coordinate operational program, manpower, allocation, utilisation and associated functions to ensure vessel maintenance and safety
  • Ensure currency and compliance with QA obligations, Vessel Class/State Survey requirements and relevant State and federal regulations
  • Maintain and coordinate training requirements and records
  • Assist with Performance Appraisal Review process
  • Ensure accuracy and currency of all vessel safety equipment
  • Work collaboratively with Regional Fleet Manager and HSEQ Manager to achieve operational success
     

Essential requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Possess demonstrated experience in maritime service organisations as a Master/Mate/Engineer
  • Hold formal WHS and Training and Assessment Qualifications
  • Possess Master Class V and MED 2
  • Have knowledge of Navy operating practices
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment coupled with sound written and oral communication skills

It is a requirement for the successful candidate to be an Australian Citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Security Defence Clearance NV1.
