Cricket Victoria is one of Victoria’s leading sporting organisations. Cricket Victoria is the governing body for the game of cricket in Victoria. From grassroots cricket to the elite teams – the Victorian Men’s Cricket Team, Victorian Women’s Cricket Team, Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades, Cricket Victoria nurtures and promotes the development and success of the sport for all Victorians. 

Cricket Victoria is currently seeking a State Infrastructure Manager. The position will work across both Cricket Victoria and Cricket Australia, maximising participation in cricket across Victoria by planning and delivering the infrastructure and facilities needed to support our growing game in Victoria. 
 
The position will be responsible for –

  • Implementing the Victorian Cricket Infrastructure Strategy 2018-2028 to guide cricket’s long-term infrastructure priorities in Victoria.
  • In conjunction with team members across both Cricket Victoria and Cricket Australia, identifying and prioritising opportunities for the development of new and renewed infrastructure servicing community cricket through to high performance cricket in line with participation and population growth.
  • Actively developing and maintaining relationships with the cricket community, local councils, state members of parliament, key government departments and agencies, trusts, land owners and developers to develop new and existing facility projects and programs of significance to Australian Cricket.
  • Managing Victoria’s participation in the National Community Facility Funding Scheme by identifying, prioritising and presenting project proposals for funding consideration guided by the Victorian Cricket Infrastructure Strategy 2018-2028.
  • Working with the Community Cricket, High Performance and Strategy teams to ensure participation programs are utilising existing and newly developed cricket infrastructure.
  • Liaising with local government, residential developers and education providers regarding planned recreational facilities and how to best leverage that infrastructure for cricket’s benefit.
  • Liaising with other sporting codes and community groups on opportunities to maximise the use of existing facilities and the development of new shared facilities.
To be successful, you will have –
  • Experience working on major projects and facility development, within the sports industry or related sectors 
  • Sound knowledge of infrastructure and accounting functions, practices and regulations 
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage and evaluate contractual documentation and a sound knowledge of contract law 
  • Contemporary knowledge of statutory planning processes 
  • Experience in legislative interpretation and implementation 
  • Formal qualification in project management, architecture, engineering, recreation planning or sufficient work experience at this level (desirable)
  • Experience within the sports industry and an understanding of community participation in sport (desirable)
