If a career in libraries is appealing, Boroondara Library Service is looking for two positive and self-motivated individuals with a strong customer focus, to join our team. The team is committed to providing high quality library experiences to the Boroondara community.  The roles available are outlined below. 

 

  • Camberwell Library - full time limited tenure opportunity until 2 May 2019
  • Kew Library - full time permanent opportunity

 

Weekend and evening work is required.

 

Outside of general library duties, these roles are responsible for:

 

  • preparing for and delivering programs for children and teenagers;
  • participating in outreach programs to kindergarten and child care centres; and
  • assisting with collection maintenance tasks

 

This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with people in a busy customer service environment, has exceptional people skills, especially in relation to children, is experienced in delivering children’s programs and is highly organised.  To be considered for this role you will have a relevant post-secondary qualification, library experience, preferably in a public library and demonstrated knowledge of relevant consumer hardware & software.   Familiarity with and/or knowledge of relevant other language(s) and culture(s) plus awareness of the diversity of the community, excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also integral to this role.
