Lead the SESLHD HIV & Related Programs (HARP) Unit’s work toward the virtual elimination of HIV notifications by 2020 and viral hepatitis by 2028 through three key program areas: HIV, Hepatitis and Sexual Health Promotion; Harm Reduction and Viral Hepatitis; and Service Development and Informatics.
Support the effective coordination and integration of HIV, sexual health and viral hepatitis services and programs across SESLHD. Build and strengthen existing partnerships within the District, with other Local Health Districts, Primary Health Networks, Non-Government Organisations and other stakeholders.
Oversee the coordination and development of community engagement initiatives; innovative models of care for testing, referral and treatment; and the co-design of services to meet the needs and preferences of priority population groups.
Work closely with key roles of the Directorate including the Population Health Epidemiologist, the Equity Coordinator and the Community Partnerships Unit. Report to the Deputy Director for the Planning, Population Health and Equity Directorate and ensure the timely reporting of HIV and Hepatitis C KPI data to the District and NSW Ministry of Health.

  • 1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or related discipline or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience in the field of HIV, sexual health and Hepatitis C service development or other relevant health disciplines
  • 2. Proven experience in and demonstrated record of sound achievement and leadership at a management level within a large and complex organisation, with knowledge of LHD structures and processes
  • 3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing a broad range of policies and strategies associated with blood borne viruses including HIV, viral hepatitis and/or sexually transmissible infections
  • 4. Demonstrated experience in the development, execution and evaluation of population health programs/services and strategic and operational plans in a range of settings.
  • 5. Proven ability to foster and maintain strategic and service development partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including local communities
  • 6. Demonstrated budget management experience and significant experience managing teams and services effectively.
  • 7. Demonstrated ability to address complex organisational and political issues using high level analytical, critical appraisal and problem solving skills and complete several tasks concurrently and achieve deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • 8. Current NSW driver’s licence.
