We are looking for: An experienced professional to elevate our farming community’s profile and ensure the future of sustainable farming in Byron Shire.  You will develop plans and systems to support our farming community and act as the main point of contact for all liaison and enquiries by farmers around the use of their farm, their plans and overall improving the customer experience with Council.

The successful candidate will meet all the criteria set out in the Position Description for the role and importantly will have demonstrated ability to understand farmers, farming and land management practices and be able to communicate with farmers of all types and abilities on a range of issues including development applications, land uses, agribusiness and environmental and sustainable land management practices.

We offer:

  • A fixed term 1 year contract (with the possibility of an extension for a further 1 year subject to funding).  It is currently a 3 day (21 hpw) part time role however hours may increase up to full time subject to further grant funding.
  • Salary and Conditions will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award with an appointment at a salary in the range of $69K and $81K per annum (dependent upon skills and experience).

  • Other benefits include 9.5% superannuation, education and training support, flexible work hours and an attractive salary packaging scheme.
