About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage an IT Data Analyst. This position is located in their busy Box Hill office with an initial 6 month contract with possible extensions.
  
About the Role 
As an IT Data Analyst you will will use data analysis skills to deliver requirements, analyse, process data and documentation to support delivery of a number of data and analytics initiatives. You will enable business decision making support tools to make data accessible and consumable for business. 

Duties

• Be accountable for specific data analysis tasks
• Use data analytical software tools to undertake and manage complex research
• Utilises analytic techniques and methods independently to develop technical data solutions to achieve business outcomes
• Gather and investigate data and statistical information to undertake business system and solution design

Requirements/Skills

• Highly proficient SQL skills and other data analytical software tools
• Experience in delivering Data and Analytics solutions to support business decision making
• Experience in development of risk and assurance modelling
• Must be eligible for a Baseline Security Clearance (Australian Citizen, No Criminal Record)

Desirable

• Specific experience with Teradata, Hadoop (Hive, Impala), MySQL 
• Demonstrated experience in end to end system testing, developing test cases, involving users and documenting outcomes
• HTML5 and JavaScript development
