ABOUT THE NDIS QUALITY AND SAFEGUARDS COMMISSION
The position will be located in Penrith, NSW, though consideration will be given to the position working from the ACT. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (the Commission) has been established as part of the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The Commission will be the dedicated national regulator of the NDIS quality and safeguards in Australia, and a non-corporate entity under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
Key functions of the Commission include registration and regulation of NDIS providers, including practice standards and a code of conduct, compliance monitoring, investigation and enforcement action, responding to complaints and reportable incidents including abuse and neglect of a person with disability, national policy setting for the screening of workers, national oversight and policy in relation to behaviour support and monitoring restrictive practices within the NDIS, and information sharing arrangements.
The Commission commenced operations in New South Wales and South Australia on 1 July 2018 when those jurisdictions completed the transition to full scheme.
WHAT THE CORPORATE BRANCH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
The Corporate Branch is responsible for supporting the development of strategic directions identified by the Commission Executive and in managing all corporate service activities for the Commission. The Corporate Branch consists of the Finance Section, the People Section, the Information Technology Section and the Program Management and Corporate Support Section.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Reporting to the Director Program Office and Corporate Support Section, you will be accountable for managing the Commission’s property requirements and overseeing all security arrangements for Commission Offices around Australia.
You will be accountable for the following:
• The provision of high quality services and support to the Director and COO across all aspects of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
• Developing a strong security culture using a variety of methods including security awareness activities
• Developing an appropriate (fit-for-purpose) property portfolio and overseeing all property administration
• Developing appropriate security and property policies and procedures
• Engaging across the Commission in such a way that property and security matters are understood and adhered to
• Representing the Commission in a range of forums as required
• Behaving in accordance with the values promoted by the Commission.

• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated capacity to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including the provision of expert advice across the organisation and to key governance committees
• Demonstrated experience in developing quality submissions, correspondence, briefings and presentations
• Experienced at working independently to achieve agreed objectives
• Adaptable, capable of shifting priorities as required
• Certificate IV in Government Security or equivalent
Desirable:
• An understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and the NDIS Act
• Lived experience of disability or demonstrated understanding of disability services in a State or Territory government context
• Basic project management experience
• Some exposure to drafting organisational policy
