The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) plays a central leadership role in the development and operations of the Australian sport sector and acts as the leading sports agency in Australia, building collaboration, alignment and effectiveness within the Australian sport sector. The Applied Technology and Innovation Branch is responsible for working with sports and other partners to identify, prioritise and deploy an applied technology, innovation and human performance agenda.
You will promote the success of athletes through designing, developing, maintaining and implementing software solutions for sensors systems to collect, store and monitor athletes and their equipment in their high performance, daily training environment. In particular, you will be developing the software to enable the collection of data from 3rd party and AT&I-developed sensors such as heart-rate monitors, accelerometers, GPS, power meters and other sensors and making data available and digestible to the end user.
We are looking for someone with a strong technical background and a degree in Computing Science, Computer Engineering, Software Development or a similar related degree, along with:
- Demonstrated experience at the SDK level with a programming language such as Microsoft C,C++, JavaScript, Python or Java
- Demonstrated experience in technical software development, preferably in an applied industrial or sports context
- A sound understanding of the Internet of Things architectures, data transfer and capabilities
- Demonstrated experience with API interfaces, preferably including ANT+ and BTLE sport communication protocols
The location for this position is Canberra and the role will be offered as a fixed term contract until 18 December 2020.
Salary range = $88,434 - $101,959 per annum plus superannuation.
