About The Role

Reporting to the Program Director - L121, the Project Manager (PM) - Modules manages the development and delivery of the programme, liaising with the relevant sub-contractors and the wider L121 community to ensure a coherent, timely and a cost-effective solution is delivered to the CASG customer of the Module element of L121.

The PM - Modules provides a single point of contact for the L121 MH, and provides leadership and management to the L121 Modules Project Team to:

  • Ensure the delivery of the L121 modules and related deliverables, in accordance with the allocated cost, quality, resources, and schedule;
  • Maximize performance and development of team members and enable them to take an active role in improving their own performance;
  • Support the module Project Managers (PM) reporting to this position, in relation to their projects, project risks, contract changes, milestone performance and payment criteria, and resource issues;
  • Manage the interface of the modules with the vehicles systems to ensure the subcontractors progress and quality are within tolerance; and,
  • Ensure subcontractors, managed by the PMs reporting to this position, are progressing in accordance with the relevant subcontract.

Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to:

  • Collect, review, and maintain project specific data and metrics to ensure that the projects are fully and correctly managed including AIC and EVM obligations;
  • Participate in project planning activity across the programme, liaise with the PM Vehicles and all relevant subcontracts;
  • Ensure all work performed by, or on behalf of, this position is in accordance with the BQMS, RDA Project Management Methodology (PMM) and L121 Project Plans, and report all breaches of cost, risk, schedule, or quality tolerance in accordance with the project plan;
  • Prepare timely and accurate project plans and reports in accordance with the Contract and Project Plan and ensure that submissions, including CCPs, are clearly written to an appropriate standard; and,
  • Identify new business opportunities and promote these to RDA management as a means of increasing the RDA product portfolio and Turnover.


About You

As the successful applicant you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant Engineering field that is recognised by The Institute of Engineers Australia (preferable);
  • Formal certifications in Project Management i.e. Prince2, PMP, CPMP etc.;
  • Proven experience managing multiple complex projects and project resources including vendors and multiple service providers using PM methodologies in a variety of environments;
  • Previous Defence or Automotive industry experience in delivering complex platforms/systems, preferably in the land/vehicles domain;
  • Currently hold or the ability to gain the appropriate Australian Security Clearance;
  • Ability to travel interstate when required;
  • Experience in dealing with ADF/CASG senior management (desirable);
  • Experience in Project Management within Defence / Engineering projects (desirable); and,
  • Prior experience delivering services to Defence under an ASDEFCON framework (desirable).
  • Ability to travel interstate and internationally when required.
