The Role

Baw Baw Shire Council has an exciting opportunity in their Arts, Culture and Events team for a Visitor Information Officer to enhance customer relationships at the newly refurbished West Gippsland Arts Centre and to facilitate event bookings and ticket sales in person or by phone.

The successful candidate will be based at West Gippsland Arts Centre in Warragul and will be responsible for providing excellent front-line customer service to the thousands of residents and visitors who come to events at the arts centre each year.  You will be an integral part of the centre’s marketing and customer service team and understand that the customer’s full experience of the venue begins at that first point of contact – the Booking Office.

We are looking for a candidate with a passion for providing outstanding visitor service, demonstrated experience in operation of a computerised ticketing systems, strong skills in daily financial reconciliation and reporting and a knowledge of marketing/promotions. Excellent communication skills, the ability to respond to a dynamic work environment and an innovative, creative operating style are important to succeed in this role.  The successful candidate will be a good team player, with great flexibility and adaptability.

You will be required to hold a current and valid motor vehicle driver’s licence and successfully undergo and return a criminal history record check.
