Woollahra Council is looking to appoint two experienced customer-facing Financial Officers to answer enquiries related to accounts payable invoices, orders, GST compliance, resolves complex payment issues and queries as well as delivering the accounts payable function.
The Finance Officers are responsible for all accounts payable functions ensuring the provision of efficient and timely processing of payment requests from internal and external customers, compliance with GST and other legislation, accuracy of costings and the matching of invoices to orders.
Both Officers will be required to keep abreast of all relevant policies and procedures in order to ensure that Council meets its statutory, management and audit requirements. They will also be responsible for the provision of ongoing training and support for the accounts payable and purchase order system.
We are seeking self-motivated, enthusiastic professionals who have the proven ability to multi-task. You will also come with an exceptional eye for detail, excellent customer service skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a dynamic team.
Essential Criteria
- Have or be studying toward a University Degree in Accounting or related field
- Accounts Payable experience in an order matching environment
- Ability to provide training one-on-one or in small groups
- Self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work through, follow up and close out problems
- Excellent attention to detail with demonstrated fast and accurate data entry skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of GST requirements
Desirable Criteria
- Local Government experience
- Knowledge of Taxable Reporting requirements
- Accounts Receivable experience
- Experience in electronic invoicing processing environment
