APS6 Program Officer required for a vacant position in Canberra. Immediate start on an attractive hourly rate.
Your new company
This Government Department is working at the forefront of delivering a high level priority program to assist in the management of an Australian Government package which aims to support retrenched workers in regions whom are affect by large-scale redundancies and where the current local labour market faces. Currently, this Department is seeking a highly experience and high performing APS6 Program Officer to undertake a broad range of tasks including, event management coordination and program management. There is a need for an experienced APS6 Program Officer for an initial 12 month contract.
Your new role
This exciting opportunity will see you working collectively with various areas of the Department, which includes state offices and external stakeholders as well as in supportive and collaborative team that will be focusing on program management and coordination. You will have analytical capabilities to allow you to draft briefings and to assist in tracking and reporting on expenditure. Alongside this, you will have strong communication skills which will not only allow you to work within your team, but also to liaise with internal and external stakeholders alike.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will be a high-performing individual with demonstrated professional experience working as a program officer, with the ability to confidently communicate to varying stakeholders. As well as this, you will have:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills which will enable you to work within and contribute to the team to meet the programs objectives.
- Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will correlate with your stakeholder engagement allowing you to liaise confidently with the Department itself, which includes the state offices and external stakeholders and to build strong relationships with all the corresponding stakeholders whether they be internal or external.
- The ability to perform and assist in the program management and events management coordination. Ideally, you will have previous procurement experience and contract management.
- Ideally, you will have previous experience in implementing previous employment programs.
You must be an Australian citizen and possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain a (Baseline or NV1 or NV2) personnel security clearance
