Assist the Local Laws team with animal management focusing on collections and control within this Council.

Your new role
As the Animal Collections Officer you will be completing tasks such as:

  • Animal collections
  • Answering call outs for animals in need
  • Animal transporting and handling duties
  • Assessing animal behavior
  • Managing situations with unpredictable animals
  • Assisting the Local Laws team with various task
  • Liaising with local shelters and pounds to admit animals
  • Providing aid to the Animal Management Officers with investigations, dog attacks, complaints and more


What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience working as an Animal Management Officer (AMO) and transporting and handling animals is a must, paired with outstanding communication skills. To be successful for this role you will also need:

  • Confidence with assessing animal behavior
  • Capable with handling aggressive and unpredictable animals
  • Strong customer service & communication skills
  • Animal handling skills
  • Experience within the animal welfare industry


Please note: Only candidates with experience in a similar role working with aggressive animals will be shortlisted and considered.
