Due to an ever growing portfolio of awarded contracts across our NSW Defence team, we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for our Northern NSW Defence Division. Reporting to the National Defence Manager the role will be responsible for overseeing all Defence Projects on bases across the Northern NSW area, including Sydney Metro.
The role will involve the day to day management and support of Defence Project teams operating in the region as well as managing individual projects as time permits. You will play a critical role in the ongoing development of business strategy and growth of the Division.
Critical functions of the role include:
- Provide commercial support across individual projects
- Business development for the division in the region
- Liaise closely with the Human Resources team for the provision and support of recruitment of staff across the region
- Ongoing Performance Management and monitoring of staff
- Monitoring and implementation of HSEQ management
- Lead and managed project delivery teams for the NSW Defence Division
- Attendance and or delegation of tender site briefings and the subsequent input into tender strategy
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
As a Project Management professional, you will possess strong commercial acumen and be highly articulate, proactive and driven with strong leadership skills.
Ideally you will have worked within a similar leadership role with previous Defence experience although not essential would be highly advantageous.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum of 10 years' project management experience with exposure to operations management in the Australian market
- Degree qualified in Engineering or Construction Management
- Experience in managing and forecasting budgets
- Proven and demonstrated experience overseeing large projects and resources or multiple teams delivering smaller projects
- Previous experience managing a portfolio of smaller projects and site based resources
- Australian Citizen with the ability to gain Defence Baseline clearance
