The ABCC has offices in each capital city across Australia, most comprise of multi-disciplinary teams of Investigators, Lawyers and support personnel.

 

About the Position

We are looking for highly motivated APS 4 Investigators to join our Sydney team to fill multiple positions.

Investigators at the ABCC undertake assessments, investigations and audits relating to breaches of Commonwealth workplace laws. In addition, our Investigators participate in education sessions that the ABCC provides to industry participants, assist with the preparation of reports and briefs of evidence, and maintain and use the ABCC case management system. 

In this role, you will need to apply your judgement and analytical ability to:

·  Conduct compliance activities and investigate breaches of Commonwealth workplace laws and the Building Codes;

· Conduct site visits and undertake all aspects of code audits and inspections;

· Provide advice and assistance to industry participants.

As an APS 4 Investigator, you will have some experience conducting investigations and/or audits.  You will be appointed as an Inspector under the BCIIP Act and will be primarily responsible for auditing compliance with Commonwealth workplace laws.

 

What you’ll need to succeed

• An ability to plan and conduct investigations and/or audits;

• Sound written and oral communication, liaison and representational skills;

• An ability to acquire knowledge of relevant laws and identify breaches;

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team;

• Sound computer skills and an ability to use case management systems.

You must be prepared to travel regionally and interstate for up to a number of weeks at a time for operational training or to assist in other offices.  You must also hold a current driver’s licence.
