The Bega Valley Shire is located at the south-eastern corner of New South Wales, half way between Australia’s two largest cities Sydney and Melbourne and just over two hours’ drive from the nation’s capital Canberra.

THE ROLE
Assets & Operations have been successful in attaining funding for the delivery of several key transport, waste and water infrastructure projects across the Shire and are looking for a skilled Design Engineer to undertake pre-construction, design, implementation and finalisation of projects; civil, public domain and structures.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Planning and undertaking the design and documentation of a range of projects; civil, public domain and structures for BVSC.
- Maintaining project documentation in accordance with the Project Management Reporting Framework.
- Liaise with BVSC staff, other government departments, private business and the general public.
- Consult with asset owners and relevant stakeholders to prepare detailed project briefs and scopes.
- Implementation of project plans, preparation of cost estimates and monitoring of project budgets.
- Assist in the management of Quality Assurance and Inspections related to assigned projects.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer that has a high level of competency across engineering design systems and software. You will be able to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders ensuring that engineering compliance is upheld from pre-construction through to commissioning.
- Degree level qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
- SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Proven experience in in scoping, investigating, surveying and design of civil works projects.
- Demonstrated experience in a project, consultant and contractor management environment.

This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week. Remuneration is $1583.30 per week as per the Local Government (State) Award 2017, plus 9.5 % employer superannuation contribution.
This role is subject to a 3.5% salary loading with respect to the Civil Liability Act 2002.
