Working within our Strategy, Performance and Innovation team, this ‘hands on’ Business Improvement Specialist will work within our Process Improvement team, providing advice and support to enhance improvement opportunities across multiple disciplines, including customer service delivery, asset life cycle, employee life cycle, strategy & innovation and information services.

As a highly developed and experienced BI Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing end-to-end processes, identifying and implementing improvements to facilitate high degrees of customer experiences, increase efficiencies and productive cross functional work practices to deliver on our vision – World class services for a better life.  Associating benefits and measures of success linked to strategic outcomes is critical to advancing our ongoing success.

Your talent to rapidly learn and understand all aspects of a large complex organisation, will see you make an immediate impact with effective cross -functional facilitation and understanding of the process management approach. Collaboration with stakeholders across the business is critical when influencing the direction of outcomes. 

Modelling process improvement methodologies, based on lean principals you will be accountable for:

  • Simplifying and supporting the identification and realisation of the improved end-to-end processes;
  • Scoping, planning and implementation of process change, including tools and improvement champions;
  • Ensuring process improvements are adequately evaluated, with a high consideration where IT solutions are being developed; and
  • Assessment impact including risk mitigation to overcome potential barriers which may impede successful implementation.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Applied experience in the use of Lean and/or Six Sigma improvement methodologies;
  • Appropriate business related qualifications or equivalent professional experience; 
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing stakeholders and relationships to foster an environment of change;  
  • Exposure to PM and/or change management approaches and tools including facilitation of workshops;
  • Leadership experience to encourage business units to own and champion ongoing improvements and change; and
  • Perseverance in a high pressured and driven environment.
