The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.  Our functions and powers are set out in the Crime and Corruption Act 2001.  We:

 

  • investigate organised crime, paedophilia, terrorist activity and other serious crime referred to us for investigation
  • receive and investigate allegations of serious or systemic corrupt conduct
  • have a statutory function for crime and corruption prevention
  • help recover the proceeds of crime
  • provide the witness protection service for the state of Queensland, and
  • conduct research on crime, policing and other relevant matters.

 

The ideal applicant will demonstrate capability in the following requirements:

 

  • Demonstrated ability to focus strategically, inspire purpose and direction and harness opportunities.
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge of contemporary financial investigation and proceeds of crime recovery methodologies and the application of these methodologies in a law enforcement context. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build organisational capability, and deliver financial investigative and proceeds of crime performance outcomes at an organisational level.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to lead, persuade and negotiate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and build positive working relationships.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing and developing professional staff and demonstrated high level of self motivation and initiative.  

 

Qualifications/professional registration/other requirements

 

  • Certified copies of all qualifications must be produced at time of interview
  • Possession of tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business or Accounting from a recognised tertiary institute is a requirement  and
  • Membership of CPA Australia (with a status of at least Certified Practising Accountant); or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand (and completion of the Chartered Accountant’s Program of that Institute) is a requirement.
  • Qualifications acquired from an overseas educational institution will only be accepted where the qualification has been recognised to an equivalent level in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework.
