Aurecon’s global Infrastructure team provides expertise across many components including bridges, rail, road, tunnels, airports, land and water and due to continued growth and an increasing workload, we are seeking a talented, client focussed Senior Rolling Stock Engineer to join our Melbourne team.  Performing a key role within the Rail team, you will lead and contribute to building of the Rolling Stock capability in VIC and NSW.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have:

• Solid design, maintenance and project management experience in the Rolling Stock Rail industry
• Demonstrated success in project delivery
• Ability to identify new business leads and work with the Business Development team to win new work
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Knowledge and experience working in AUS markets is beneficial

You will be a professionally qualified Engineer, preferably chartered or at the least working towards chartership, Mechanically or Electrically qualified with a demonstrated technical knowledge of some or all of the following attributes:

• New build design/commissioning/operations
• Rolling stock maintenance strategy development and management
• Light rail experience (design, procurement, introduction/maintenance and operations)
• Resolution of in-service technical issues
• Vehicle Acceptance and compliance management (VAB)
• Understanding of Australasian/European/American standards development and interpretation
• Experience of rolling stock/operator licencing arrangements
• Demonstrated success in project management and leading teams and clients through change processes
• Consulting experience and the ability to identify and develop new business leads and work with the Business Development team to win new work
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Knowledge and experience of working in either New Zealand or Australian markets
• Rolling stock lease and whole life cost model development and management
• Franchise bid development and management
• Rail industry experience outside of Australasia  

You will be a team player, and able to develop collaborative working relationships to accomplish projects goals.
