Senior Mechanical Engineer

Huate Magnet Australia Pty Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shandong Huate Magnet Technology Co. Ltd which had been established in Dec 2017. We are aiming to be one of the biggest supplier of magnetic equipment in Australia. Shandong Huate Magnet Technology Co. Ltd is a world leading large scale magnetic application equipment professional manufacturers based in China. We are specializing in manufacturing magnetic separators, magnetic iron separators, cryogenic superconducting magnetic separation equipments, medial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) superconducting magnet etc. We have more than 20 years mineral processing experience. With more than 20,000 customers, our equipments and service are exported to many countries in the world including USA, Europe, Australia, South Africa etc. 

Reporting to the General Manager of Huate Magnet Australia, you will be responsible for engineering design work including equipment detailed design, testing and technical support etc.

The Role

This is a newly created position. This role is based in our Perth Office, with occasional travel to China or remote mine sites. This role represents an opportunity to work in a key position in a new and vibrant company in Australian market.

In this role you will be required too:

1. Prepare material requisitions, equipment specifications and data sheets
2. Review vendor documentation
3. Review in house deign documentation  
4. Undertake mechanical design, prepare design documentation
5. Providing technical advise to the team.
6. Site inspections
7. Able to train and direct junior engineers and designers

To be suitable it is essential that you have the following skills and experience:

1. Extensive knowledge of Australian Standards and Regulatory Requirements in Western Australia
2. Strong understanding of relevant Australian standards, International standards and the WA Mines Safety and Inspection regulations
3. At least 5 years experience in the engineering/mining industry
4. Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
5. Design experience within  a  Consulting environment would be advantageous
6. The ability of speaking fluent Mandarin is preferred.
