- Reporting To: Project Manager

The Section Manger shall be responsible for all aspects of the operation relating to the erection of pre-cast segmental viaducts using a Launching Gantry including the post-tensioning. It shall be their responsibility to ensure that all activities undertaken comply with the all technical, quality and safety procedures as well as accepted world best practice. This is a leadership position that has accountability for establishing objectives and managing the performance of direct reports - establishing a culture of professionalism, safety and technical expertise.
The role shall include:
- Supervising the procurement and specification of the Overhead Launching Gantry and associated temporary works.
- Monitoring of and liaison with the Overhead Launching Gantry designer and manufacturer to ensure schedule, quality and safety requirements are met.
- Management of the safe assembly, commissioning and operation of the Overhead Launching Gantry over approximately 31 months.
- Management of the post-tensioning installation, stressing, grouting and span erection follow up activities.
- Oversee section safety performance, ensuring safety risks are managed and good safety practices are consistently adopted.
- Ensure operations and logistics are planned with enough lead time to ensure the project is set up to start on time and continues in accordance with the program.
- Supervision of the engineers and superintendents in charge of the Launching Gantry
- Close monitoring of the work progress and reporting to the Project Manager
- Active participation within the Senior Site Management Team.
This is a specialist role and hence requires that the successful candidate has at least 5 years previous experience on pre-cast segmental erection with an overhead self-launching gantry and extensive post-tensioning experience.
