Randstad is currently seeking a CAD/GIS Technical Officer to work a short-term assignment with a leading organisation within the gas distribution sector. This role will commence on the 19 June 2018 and run for approximately 3 months. The location for this role will be Kidman Park, Adelaide.
The primary focus of this role is to provide technical responses and advice in relation to Third Party enquiries relating to natural gas pipelines and supply mains in South Australian Networks. The position investigates and evaluates the impact of construction works or projects on existing natural gas assets and provides an appropriate response. On a day to day basis, your responsibilities will include:
- Review and asses third party design plans to determine the scope of protection measures or alteration works required to ensure the integrity of existing natural gas assets are not compromised.
- Co-ordinate and evaluate information obtained from internal departments to help provide a more efficient and accurate response, in accordance with all relevant engineering, operational and administrative requirements.
- Liaise with external parties and provide assistance in the form of written and verbal advice and ultimately sound direction in relation to natural gas asset protection measures, including management requirements when excavating or constructing in close proximity to natural gas assets.
- Represent the Asset Inspection and Protection Team at meetings with third parties consultants with regard to technical matters for asset protection.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 5 years’ experience associated with providing technical support and advice in the area of design/construction/maintenance and operation of utility assets (preferably gas).
- An understanding of practical operational procedures (construction) and civil engineering practices including the ability to interoperate complex design drawings.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- A current driving licence.
