About the role:

We are proud to partner with a highly regarded Newcastle engineering consultancy that provides a diverse range of geotechnical and geo-environmental investigation and design solutions for all development types. Their geotechnical services include everything from routine testing, one-off analysis and problem solving through to the design and supervision of earthworks and foundations for structural elements. 

Due to an ever growing pipeline of work, our client is looking for an intermediate level Geotechnical Engineer to join their Newcastle team. The successful person will be able to classify sites and make suitable recommendations for residential buildings (2-3 storeys) and detached single storey buildings as described in AS2870, as well as low to medium rise commercial and industrial buildings.

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you hold:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and/or Geotechnical Engineering
• 2-5 years of Geotechnical Engineering consulting experience within Australia on a broad range of residential, commercial and industrial projects
• Expertise in site investigation, reporting and analysis/design
• Excellent analytical skills to develop effective and innovative solutions
• Strong presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• High level interpersonal and client liaison abilities
• General Induction Card (White Card)
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Strong knowledge of Australian and Industry standards
• Current driver's licence
