About the role

This role is for someone who is ready to step up from the Senior Project Manager into a General Manager position. You will be running and controlling the operations of Balance. Your tasks will include but not be limited to:
 
  • Daily operational management of all aspects, broadly encompassing financial management; project management; OHS and quality management.
  • Strategic planning of growth strategies for the Company and implementation of these strategies.
  • Manage a team of professionals to deliver a higher outcome for clients.
  • Prepare and provide mechanical services tender submissions
  • Manage mechanical services for multiple projects including the management of Project Supervisors.
  • Ensure that their supervision of mechanical subcontractors undertaking mechanical services installation meets standards of quality.
  • Ensure all mechanical services project contractual obligations are met, including project deadlines and handover dates, financial budgets.
  • Prepare detailed mechanical services programmes for each project and implement onsite
  • Prepare and issue workshop drawings, as required.
  • Establish and develop a maintenance capability with the existing Mechanical Services Business, including developing new business opportunities in maintenance as well as preparing and tendering for maintenance contracts, both government and private
  • Establish, develop, administer, monitor and report on the performance of the Mechanical Services Business
  • Attending project meetings, as required
  • Run and administer projects including obtaining subcontractor prices and quotes; negotiating with subcontractors; issuing purchase orders, managing project variations; preparing and submitting progress claims and invoices
  • Provide monthly job costings and project forecasts
  • Prepare and reconcile projects upon completion
  • Prepare and issue Safe Work Method Statements for all mechanical services works
  • Prepare and issue safety data sheets for all chemicals and materials to be utilized on a project
  • Implement and comply with OHS Management System
  • Implement and comply with Environmental Management System
  • Implement and comply with Quality Management System
  • Aim to deliver all mechanical services work to a high standard and documented specifications with minimal defects at project completion
  • Address and attend to mechanical services defect rectification work promptly
 
Skills & experience

Applicants for the Project Manager role should be able to show:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Australian HVAC industry with an excellent knowledge of HVAC systems and applicable Australian Standards and Building Codes
  • Your technical skills will be complimented by a strong commercial bias in support of the parent company’s fitout and construction business
  • Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Qualified Supervisor Certificate, NSW
  • Able to accurately monitor and manage the financial aspects of projects
  • Experience managing subcontractors
  • Display excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an excellent attention to detail,
  • Can multi task in a challenging role and work well both individually and within a team environment.
  • This role requires a high proficiency in computer skills.
