The role

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with water infrastructure experience to work closely with our other specialists in the WI team to deliver major water infrastructure projects in Queensland and wider ANZ.

With a minimum of 5 years’ commercial experience in delivering mechanical engineering designs across large water infrastructure projects, you will play a key role in the technical delivery and project management of water and waste water programmes of work across ANZ.

With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Some of your core responsibilities include:

  • Provide mechanical engineering design in relation to water infrastructure projects.
  • Supporting new development, modernization and upgrade of mechanical equipment and balance of plant mechanical systems
  • Providing technical services to public and private sector clients including design work, field work and project management support activities.
  • Undertake detailed analyses and designs related to mechanical equipment
  • Undertake equipment inspections and tests.
  • Ensure that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
  • Proactively collaborate with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of project deliverables
  • Apply project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required standard in a timely manner.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Chartered Professional Engineer – Mechanical
  • Experience of delivering technical projects within a consultancy environment both in a Design and Project management capacity.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design to Australian Standards
  • Relevant water infrastructure knowledge and experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
