The CPB Contractors Dragados Samsung joint venture (CPBDS-JV) has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $3.9bn WestConnex New M5. The New M5 is the second stage of WestConnex and will run in twin tunnels between the existing M5 East at Kingsgrove and new interchange at St Peters, providing improved access to the airport, South Sydney and Port Botany precincts.
Major work commenced in late 2016 with the construction scope including:
- New twin tunnels which will more than double capacity along the M5 East corridor and provide motorway access to north of Sydney Airport
- A new interchange at an industrial site at St Peters, which reduces the impact on nearby residential areas
- Connections from the interchange to key roads in the area, including Campbell Road/Street, Euston Road and across the canal to Bourke Road
- Widening of Campbell Road/Street and Euston Road western tunnel entry and exit points at Kingsgrove.
- Construction of a Motorway Control Center, Substations and Ventilation Buildings
In line with the above scope there is a requirement for Structures Engineers to help build the Motorway Control Centers, Substations and Ventilation Buildings at our Arncliffe & St Peters sites. The project is seeking applications from Site & Project Engineers with proven experience in structures: bridges, cut & cover, large scale commercial or residential buildings projects.
Activities of the role will include coordinating works on site, organising materials/subcontractors, ensuring works meet the specified quality standards, ensuring all workers on site adhere to safety rules, and having ownership of the documentation and reporting that goes along with these activities.
To be considered you will have suitable experience in a similar role. Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management are essential. Evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
