Mott MacDonald in Sydney is looking to appoint a Technical Director of Maritime Engineering. This is a great opportunity to progress your career with a multi-disciplinary team.
Key duties will include:
• Managing a small team of maritime engineering professionals;
• Managing various stages of maritime engineering projects from planning to construction supervision and condition surveys;
• Assisting the Practice Leader with the overall commercial and technical running of the business in Sydney, including business development;
• Responsibility for the management of a wide range of port and maritime projects;
• Writing reports and preparing design drawings, specifications etc; and
• Writing proposals.
We seek an experienced Engineer who is:
• Ambitious and highly motivated with 10+ years post graduate experience in Maritime Engineering;
• Experience in management of other Engineers;
• Able to demonstrate extensive experience in the planning, design and construction of maritime structures including oil, gas, bulk materials; general cargo and container terminals, harbours, dredging, reclamation and breakwaters for clients, together with a proven track record;
• Experienced in providing design services to contractors on major design and construct contracts and in co-ordinating multi-disciplinary design teams;
• Self motivated with strong interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and excellent organisational skills;
• An experienced project Manager.
• Able to mentor and develop support staff;
Ideally, you will also be:
• Experienced in business development and a strong network of existing client relationships.
• Have experience in working within a Global business.

• Be in possession of relevant academic qualifications and able to demonstrate exceptional Maritime Technical competences.
• Demonstrate good organisational skills and the ability to communicate/liaise effectively and professionally with the design team, clients and contractors;
