About the Role
 

Working onsite at the Portland Alcoa Aluminium Smelter, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing the relationship between Alcoa and WorleyParsons to achieve agreed business outcomes.

 
Additional responsibilities include;
 
  • Manage and have ownership of the WorleyParsons Alcoa alliance at the Alcoa Aluminium Smelter, Portland
  • Be the custodian of the delivery of safe, cost-effective and high-quality brownfield project services and solutions to the operation;
  • Manage all stakeholders, including customer stakeholders at all levels and internal within WorleyParsons;
  • Drive change as directed by the Portland Smelter leadership whilst ensuring strict attention is paid to the effective and efficient delivery of the project portfolio;
  • Maximise business/financial return to the customer by ensuring that all project management systems and procedures are applied to the execution of a portfolio of projects from project identification to handover;
  • Ensure that the portfolio of projects is compliant with the Project Delivery Plan and Project Execution Plan by monitoring, coordinating and reporting on their status; implementing corrective actions/?first fix? solutions/escalating issues in a timely manner to senior personnel;
  • Maintain project performance and customer satisfaction by liaising between the Alcoa Alliance, the Contract Senior Management Team and the customer through regular contact with on-site customer and team members;
  • Liaise with project management personnel and stakeholders to ensure compliance with all HSEC, work quality, constructability, cost and schedule requirements and the achievement of successful project outcomes;
  • Provide brown field project management expertise to the development and execution of projects;
  • The position requires the incumbent to be able to carry out ?hands on? project engineering work as well as fulfil the Lead Manager role.

Skills & Experience
 

As this is an integral role within our business, we are looking for a committed and driven individual who demonstrates successful leadership and people management attributes whilst also exhibiting strong technical understanding in brownfield engineering project management activities.

 

Further competencies we are seeking include;

 
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (or Institution of Engineers Australia approved equivalent);
  • Leadership experience working in complex processing, engineering or manufacturing plants;
  • Proven success in managing multi- discipline teams and driving change;
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of client value drivers;
  • Sound knowledge of project management processes in heavy industry and/or manufacturing industries.
