We have an opening for a full-time mid-level Environmental Engineer/Scientist/Hydrogeologist within our Contaminated Sites team, based in the Perth office. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for leading, supervising and performing fieldwork duties on site, as well as technical leadership of office-based work. Previous experience in the development of conceptual site models, phase separated hydrocarbons, hydro geochemistry, contaminant hydrogeology and contaminant fate and transport is considered an asset.
 
In the role you will interact with multiple disciplines, working on technically challenging projects.  You will have excellent industry mentoring by working with a WA Accredited Contaminated Sites Auditor and other industry leaders in Risk Assessment, Toxicology and Contaminant Hydrogeology.  This is an opportunity for you to be involved in a diverse range of high profile projects and develop your career within a dynamic and employee-owned professional consulting company.
 
Your responsibilities may involve:
  • General field investigations which will include soil and groundwater investigations, monitoring programs and implementation and managing site remediation programs;
  • Data management, interpretation and reporting for phased environmental site assessments, contaminant assessments, and remediation;
  • Environmental assessments and planning including baseline environmental investigations, due diligence investigations, environmental hazard identification and risk assessment;
  • Development of conceptual site models and source, pathway and receptor models;
  • Safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/eliminating high priority safety hazards; and
  • Training and supervising work of technicians and junior professional staff on site.
You will be qualified with a bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Geology or Environmental Engineering or a related discipline. You will have previous fieldwork experience and a good understanding of Australian contaminated sites guidelines and procedures and environmental regulations. It is expected that you will be self-motivated, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong analytical and problem solving skills.
