Transport Modeller / Economist

Cardno’s Traffic and Transport team partners with its clients to provide traffic and transport solutions for the community. Due to ongoing work in WA, we currently seek an experienced Transport Economist/Planner/Modeller (3 years’ plus experience) to work in our Perth office on a Casual or full time basis. The successful candidate will become part of a project team that delivers traffic engineering solutions across the state, country and internationally.
 
The position offers the opportunity to:

• Further develop your transport planning, modelling and financial modelling skills
• Work with experienced teams delivering a variety of transport planning projects
• Work on a diverse range of domestic and international projects including traffic network planning, business case development and transport planning

With a passion for shaping traffic solution outcomes, you will be involved hands on with the technical assessment and documentation for projects. Over time, this position will allow you to develop your management and client relationship skills. You will work alongside experienced traffic and transport planning professionals assisting you to develop your skills and enhance your career.
 
The key attributes essential for success in this position include:

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Good knowledge of the traffic and transport industry including familiarity with best practice technical evaluation tools
• Knowledge and experience within the Australian market (WA ideally)
• A commercial commitment to complete projects on time and within budget
• A proven ability to actively contribute to a team of professional staff
• Experience of Business Case development and financial modelling
• Experience in use of AIMSUN, PARAMICS, VISSIM and SATURN
• Previous experience within a consulting environment with exposure to projects of all sizes
