Downer has jointly been awarded the contract for Carrapateena, construction of a Copper/Gold Mine in South Australia. This news creates a great opportunity for experienced Field / Project Engineer - Electrical to join the team. This will be a site based opportunity with a 21/7 roster. Reporting to the Project Engineer You will be responsible for:
- Supporting and providing Engineering assistance such as; Work pack development, programming, conducting ITPs, estimates, reports and recommendations.
- Monitoring the construction progress to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and that time schedules are met.
- Participating in planning of future works to ensure construction activities mitigates and manages safety and environmental risks.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of Downer, EC&M and Construction systems, tools and processes, working in partnership with PMO and other functional groups (such as Project Controls, Zero Harm, HR)
- Actively managing customer (and potential customer) and subcontractor/supplier/consultant relationships to position Downer as the contractor of choice for suitable opportunities in our chosen sectors
ABOUT YOU
To be successful you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Field or Work pack Engineering on major projects;
- Demonstrable and successful experience in a construction engineering role
- Ability to review and develop new processes and streamline transactional activities
- Project planning; organisational and time management
- Demonstrated experience with engineering requirements such as ITPs, work pack and test pack and planning of future construction activities.
- Sound and established Project Execution knowledge
- Proven leadership ability
- Responsible HSE attitude
- Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
