The Role:

Located on the client's site in Campbellfield - in Melbourne's northern suburbs, the primary function of the Program Manager is to ensure the delivery of Vehicle Personalisation accessories for a given Ford vehicle line.

The Work:

As the Program Manager you will lead the team through program milestones and manage the Genuine Ford Accessory (GFA) program. You will do this via a variety of means such as:

• Engaging in stakeholder meetings and tracking program status through weekly Program Steering Team (PST) meetings.  
• Develop program and work level plans and recovery plans.
• Track program progress and critical paths.
• Interact with Lead Vehicle Engineering Activity (LVEA) to obtain necessary support on Product Design Letters (PDL), World Engineering Release System (WERS) processes, engineering assessments, vehicle tests and a plethora of additional product development activities.
• Report on program status and escalate help requests for assistance to higher management team
• Proactively seek for improvement in process efficiency
• Working across multiple time zones to facilitate communication across Europe, North America and Ford - Asia Pacific

Your Skills:

Upon applying you must have a demonstrated strong suite of Project Management abilities. Your most recent roles have seen you project manage the work of small to medium sized teams. You must have familiarity with common engineering process/tools such as GT&D, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA and PSW; and have familiarity with and an understanding of Australian Design rule compliance requirements and how they relate to European Certification Standards (ECE) and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards in the U.S.

You are highly orgnaised with the ability to manage large cross market programs and the subsequent large volume of documentation submissions.

It goes without saying that you are a self-starter, have the ability to take responsibility for key program milestones and have strong communication skills suited to interactions with cross functional teams such as marketing, legal, engineering & management.

Your soft skills will see you communicating deliverables effectively to Senior Management, consulting and delivering change, whilst maintaining a positive, professional and pro-active attitude in a culturally and functionally diverse environment.

Ideally you will have experience with multiple cultures, multiple automotive markets and have an entrepreneurial mindset, along with a degree of new business development exposure.

Above all you have a strong common sense approach to engineering design and issue resolution.

Your Qualifications and Experience:

• Masters or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Vehicle Engineering.   
• 3+ years experience in the automotive industry, Ford experience advantageous but not essential
