Reporting to the Lab Supervisor this role is a key player in our laboratory duties. The role includes designing electrical circuits, preparing control scheme and flow charts, performing research and development tests, and writing reports and analysing data. In addition,conducting compliance inspections and regulatory approval work are part of this position responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop control schemes for refrigerated display cabinet and condensing units.
• integrate and test different control in refrigeration technologies
• Carrying out feasibility studies for new technical innovations.
• Drawing up plans using computer-assisted engineering for electrical designs
• Estimating material, construction, and labour costs, and project timescales
• Coordinate technicians and craftspeople
• Testing installations and refrigeration systems compliance
• Develop research reports and data analysis
• Making sure projects meet electrical and construction safety regulations
• Overseeing inspection and maintenance programs
• Support other teams in electrical and control engineering functions.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

The candidate must posses the following technical competencies

• Strong knowledge of electrical and control engineering practices (HVAC and refrigeration application will be highly regarded)
• desirable to have microprocessor based controller application and programming skills, exposure to various third party controllers and software such Emerson, Carel, and Danfoss brands used in the HVAC and refrigeration industry
• Well-developed analytical and decision making skills
• strong written, verbal communication and inter personal skills
• Experience with MS Office suite, project management software
• Computer and computational literacy required in performing engineering R&D functions
• Good electrical and mechanical CAD skills
• Word processing, spreadsheet analysis, data acquisition and processing, and presentation.
• Demonstration of creativity and attitude to take engineering challenges
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
