Motium is a rapidly growing company that designs and manufactures rugged computing products (computers, LCD monitors, IoT) for harsh environments, primarily vehicles. We provide a range of standard, semi-custom, and custom products to our global customer base.
About the Role
We are looking for a professional and experienced PCB Design Engineer to join our Engineering Design team and help us grow our successful suite of products by designing high speed multi-layer rigid PCBs and FPCs for our range of industrial computing products, including:
- layout of high speed digital circuits;
- Switchmode Power Supplies;
- mechanical design, stackup design;
- footprint design; and
- design for high volume manufacture and automated testing.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be detail oriented, an avid problem solver and committed to continuous skills development.
In addition you will have:
- tertiary qualifications in electronic engineering or equivalent;
- a minimum 4 years professional experience designing PCBs;
- a demonstrated commitment and understanding of quality work;
- ability to logically plan, document and execute a body of work;
- ability to work in a collaborative and high feedback environment;
- experience using Altium designer for schematic and PCB layout;
- experience with high speed layout for at least 6 layer stackups;
- familiarity with tracking high speed busses such as USB, SATA, PCIe, Ethernet;
- the ability to use a range of test equipment for debugging hardware layouts;
- effective written and verbal communication skills.
The following will be highly regarded:
- experience with board level simulation.
- hand and reflow soldering assembly skills.
- experience with ESD and EMI problem solving.
- experience with thermal and vibration testing.
- experience with different PCB materials and the PCB manufacturing process.
