The Role

Strong demand for our services throughout Australia and internationally has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Blast Engineer. In this role, you will be part of a team who provides world-class training facilities to develop and maintain a Defence, Security and Border Force mission critical capability. Such facilities require innovative approaches to solve the challenges inherent in a firearms/munitions environment. Opportunities will exist to contribute to projects within our other Market Sectors also.

Having extensive knowledge and experience with explosive ordnance, the successful applicant will be accustomed and comfortable working within a multiple project, multidisciplinary environment displaying the capability to deliver innovative structural/blast solutions ensuring work is delivered on time and to budget.

You will join an energetic and dynamic integrated infrastructure design team delivering the latest in specialist security training facilities and explosive ordnance storage facilities for Defence and other Security Agencies. The role will require design, delivery and technical innovation and refresh of facilities nationally and internationally.

Skills, qualifications and experience:

• RPEQ, CPEng (Civil), MSc (WES), BEng (Civil) or equivalent
• Experience in blast and ballistic assessments for Defence and Law Enforcement
• Understanding of eDEOP101 - Department of Defence - Explosives Regulations
• Understanding of AS 2187 parts 1 and 2
• Understanding of AS/NZS 60079.10.2 Explosive atmospheres - Part 10.2: Classification of areas - Explosive dust atmospheres
• Enthusiastic to learn and committed to developing a career amongst like-minded professionals
• Excellent communication skills, including strong report writing skills • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to juggle conflicting priorities
• An ability to work with colleagues around the globe, and communicate effectively at any level will be crucial to your success
