Naval Group Australia has one singular focus - to design and build 12 state-of-the-art submarines for our country.
As we continue this undertaking, we are now looking for a General Arrangement Engineer to live and work in France for a 3-5 year period. You will be part of a significant transfer of technology by Naval Group Australia and form part of our design authority team when the design moves to Adelaide.
As a General Arrangement Engineer you will manage the production of the complete CAD arrangement and be responsible for the compliance of the CAD arrangement to the requirements (production, physical integration, functional integration, transverse requirements).
The successful applicant must be eligible for an Australian & French defence security clearances; where by Australian citizenship is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the CAD arrangement 3D mock-up; fabrication and assembly drawings; and design and requirement-compliance justification files
- Guarantee the management of arrangement studies by planning the studies and defining the arrangement tasks in accordance with the program/project needs and design process
- Take technical responsibility of the arrangement trade for the project/program
- Verify the application of trade rules (fluids, seatings, cabling, etc.) and requirements (functional, transversal, etc.)
- Approve all output data for managed studies and contribute to the performance of design reviews
Key Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
- Post Graduate studies in Marine Engineering ideal
- 10+ years’ experience in mechanical naval systems
- Knowledge of submarine platforms and working in a shipyard is preferred
In this position you will have the capacity to work autonomously as a designer, use imagination and initiative. You will also form part of our Design Authority team, and have excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
