We are currently seeking a CAD Draftperson with demonstrated experience in engineering design and strong Solidworks PDM skills for a newly created position, working as part of our Technology Centre team. The focus of the team is to work with internal and external stakeholders to develop bespoke solutions to testing and inspection issues and requirements.

Working as part of a multi-disciplined team of non-destructive testing specialists and engineers, this role will be responsible for modelling engineering designs as per jobs specifications for the machining of components and parts.

This full time, permanent position will be based at our Australian head office and Bibra Lake, and will report to the Technology Centre Manager.

Principal Duties:

• Using Solidworks to model designs.
• Communicating designs via working drawings to the Technology Centre Manager, other members of the Technology Centre team, Operational Managers and client representatives.
• Working in a collaborative team environment to research, develop, build, validate and deploy testing and inspection solutions.
• Liaising with suppliers to purchase required materials and consumables, as necessary.
• Liaising with members of operational teams and other technology centres throughout the business internationally to discuss projects and solutions.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

• 3+ years’ experience using Solidworks software,
• Engineering qualification would be beneficial but not essential,
• Strong understanding of drawing detailing,
• Proven ability to work and contribute as part of a team,
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently as required,
• Eye for detail and the ability to identify problems and propose solutions,

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,
