Water Resources Engineer, Newcastle
We are seeking an enthusiastic and results driven Water Resources Engineer, with strong linear infrastructure and/or mining experience, to join our team in Newcastle
 
Possessing Civil or Environmental degree qualifications, the successful applicant will have 10+ years experience in a similar position and should be confident dealing with clients, both internal and external.
 
As a key member of our highly successful team you will be responsible for
  • The delivery of working solutions and detailed designs for a broad range of infrastructure projects
  • The evaluation of water related (hydrologic and hydraulic) and water quality impacts of, and on, major infrastructure, mining and development projects
  • Completion of flood studies and the undertaking of floodplain management planning
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to help deliver successful projects and realise exceptional results for our clients
  • Project management of water resources projects, including management of resources, budget, risks and health and safety
  • Deliver projects from proposal to design completion and construction
  • Provide engineering and technical advice to both internal and external clients
  • Prepare and review fee proposals
  • Mentor and guide other team members
 
About you
We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter, with the desire to progress their career in a technically driven multi-disciplinary setting, with the following key attributes:
  • Experience in water infrastructure management and environmental monitoring and management
  • Experience with water management in the extraction industry, including mine water balances, will be highly regarded
  • A working understanding of water and environmental legislation, both Federal and State, will also be highly regarded
  • Proven ability to work cohesively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Exception verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with established skills in preparing reports and delivering presentations
  • Flexible in your approach to challenges with a proven ability to develop good relationships with internal and external clients, provide high quality work and develop new and repeat business
