Marand is a fast growing, technology rich, Australian privately owned company supplying innovative high tech turnkey manufacturing systems to the Rail, Defence, Aerospace and Automotive industries.

We are seeking to appoint Project Engineers/Managers to our Automation Business Unit.  Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, this is a permanent role responsible for the commercial and technical management and delivery of projects.

Located at Moorabbin, this role will also require travel interstate and to remote areas. Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):-

• Manage bids through concept design, proposal development and cost estimation
• Manage projects to ensure they are delivered on time and meet or exceed forecast margins
• Ensure projects meet customer requirements, both technical and commercial
• Continual communication and liaison with all stakeholders on project related matters
• Oversee the mechanical, electrical and software engineers assigned to each project
• Organise and co-ordinate with internal manufacturing, installation, commissioning, service and support teams
• Manage external contractors and sub-contractors
• Review and develop project related documentation including the safety related documentation associated with AS4024:2014 compliance
• Identify and manage risks and issues throughout the life of the project

The successful applicant must have prior project engineering and project management experience running automation projects and be comfortable building strong relationships with our customers.  Experience working with PLC based systems, robots, AGVs, machine tools and special purpose machinery is highly desirable. 

You will need to meet the requirements for Defence security clearance, so must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be considered for this position.
