The Company

JVA Engineering is a well-established Engineering company based in Dandenong which specialises in providing end-to-end customer solutions including design, fabrication, installation, repair and maintenance.  We service a very broad industry base and are looking to grow our management team and maximise our operational efficiency.

Reporting to the Director the role requires a dynamic individual with a minimum of eight years proven experience in Mechanical Engineering.  You will use your strong communication skills to liaise with customers, understand their requirements and deliver results that exceed their expectations whilst meeting all OH&S, Quality and Australian Standards.  This role is suited to someone who has local experience and is an Australian citizen.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and submission of tenders and quotes development of tender submissions and project quotations as required.
• Liaising with customers to determine project scope and requirements.
• Project managing from initial conception to final completion.
• Project Management of medium to heavy fabrication projects, maintenance and shutdowns.
• Compiling documentation including MDR’s, ITP’s, JSEA’s etc.
• Designing and interpreting drawings via software packages. The ability to produce drawings is desirable, but not essential.
•  Cost management and cost control of projects.

Key Skills/ Qualifications:

• 8+ years Project experience, including on-site installations.
• Experience in a similar position and demonstrable project achievements.
• Preparation of government tenders and general project quotations
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to liaise with existing and potential customers in a sales capacity.
• High level of organisational, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Sound computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite, MS Project and ability to produce drawings.
• Documentation, quality control and cost control experience.
• Ability to assist with hands-on and practical tasks in the workshop and on-site as required.
• An absolute commitment to achieving our safety vision of “Nobody gets hurt anytime” within the workplace and a sound knowledge of OH&S risk assessment and legislative compliance.
• A team player with enthusiasm and commitment to make a positive contribution to the business.
• Genuine interest and experience in mechanical systems/items with hands-on experience in understanding of their mechanics.
• Experience with structural repairs, food processing equipment, petrochemical, piping, boilers, pressure vessels and equipment highly desirable, but not essential.
