Electrical Engineer - Renewable Energy

This is an awesome opportunity for a driven engineer to join a global renewable energy owner/ operator, who are also one of Australia’s largest renewable energy companies. They own and operate a variety of assets, including; wind farms, solar farms and hydro power generators. These assets are spread across the whole of Australia. This company has hefty financial backing and they have aggressive expansion plans - which will result in them doubling their generation capacity by 2020.
Why this role?
Based out of Melbourne’s CBD you will play an integral part in the Asset Engineering Division. This role is varied and involves managing small CAPEX projects (asset refurbishments), to general operations and maintenance of assets. You will be engaging with external design houses, procuring materials, reviewing designs, investigating electrical faults, update the asset management systems (CMMS), etc. This department is only going to grow, which will in turn naturally provide career development opportunities. Also you will be helping to save the planet by ensuring clean energy is delivered to customers!
Duties:
- Interface with Asset Engineering Manager and other engineers.
- Liaising with external suppliers.
- Updating CMMS systems.
- Fault identification and rectification.
- Managing safety and electrical system upgrades.
- Project management of small CAPEX projects.
- Some commissioning activities.
- Review asset performance data collected from SCADA system.
Requirements:
- Electrical Engineering degree (or EC&I, or Mechatronics, or similar)
- Previous experience in a project engineering role or asset engineering position in the HV space (power generation, power distribution, power transmission, electrical OEM, etc)
