Be a part of BDA's Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) Division that supports our Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) work through sustainment and upgrades to Australia's Wedgetail fleet.
BDA is growing and as a result are looking for a Principal Design Engineer - Mission Computing Hardware and Avionics to be based in Brisbane or Adelaide.
As a Boeing Mission Systems Engineer you will apply your extensive experience to a broad range of avionics, computing, electrical and electronic engineering activities, across various projects, from planning, architecture, estimation, design, production, procurement, qualification, and test.
This role is part of a globally distributed team that is performing AEW&C Mission Computing (Software, Hardware), Sensor (Radar, ESM, EWSP), and Communications Systems upgrades.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conceptualise system-of-system architectures to satisfy customer operational requirements
- Develop candidate technical solutions for business development campaigns, customer solicitations and tenders
- Develop technical strategies, program approaches and tender offerings
- Liaise with suppliers, partners and/or prime contractors to synthesise viable technical offerings
- Mentoring, coaching and teaching junior staff members
To be successful you will have:
- Tertiary degree with a minimum of 10+ years' experience in relevant technical disciplines
- Extensive experience in delivering/integrating systems within Aerospace, Defence or complex engineering project environments will be highly regarded.
- Advanced knowledge/experience in systems engineering practices, including requirements analysis and verification
- The ability to work independently across a wide range of tasks and competencies
Experience with some or all of the following is desirable:
- Airborne computing, storage & networking hardware
- Application of cross domain solutions and multi security domain designs
- Integration of military data communications equipment and sensor technology
