The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting full-time opportunity for a well-rounded and proactive Design Engineer to support our Product Development team based in Dandenong. Look after the design coordination and release of cab and cab systems to adhere to performance, quality, cost and time targets.
Responsibilities
- Manage the design, integration and validation of new cab biw / cab systems and components
- Co-ordinate engineering activities with Australian and European teams and manage communication with related functions
- Plan, coordinate and evaluate cab validation and approval activities including prototype and development builds together with Product Validation and Manufacturing teams
- Drive troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of cab & cab system related issues from field
- Coordinate feasibility studies of new proposals
- Involve various stakeholders and departments, both regionally and globally to drive product development and validation activities
- Report into project team meetings and provide documented status updates
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in an applicable Engineering discipline.
- Sound understanding and demonstrated experience with cab biw, cab based component systems & integration
- Understanding of sheet metal / plastics & their relevant manufacturing processes
- Knowledge on electrical cab architecture, product development and product industrialisation.
- Good working knowledge on Cad Software Catia V5 & PLM Team centre
- Knowledge of ADR’s and ECE standards applicable to Australian commercial vehicles highly desirable however not essential
- Heavy Vehicle truck license desirable however not essential
