The Role:
A new opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer based in Sydney, Newcastle or Brisbane responsible for maintaining safe, compliant and reliable freight rolling stock, while maximising performance and profitability. This is a permanent position with great long term career prospects as the company continues to go from strength to strength in growing their rail project portfolio.
You will be providing effective engineering solutions to emerging fleet issues and the introduction of new equipment whilst supporting the development of industry leading maintenance and overhaul procedures by providing expert technical advice to internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Delivering engineering design changes, investigations and resolution of technical issues.
• Supporting the development of the technical maintenance plan and the corrective and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Provides engineering support for major overhauls.
• Supports development of a cost model and the future reliability of the fleet
• Suggests process improvements to drive efficiency.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant tertiary qualification with extensive rolling stock experience.
• Experience in rolling stock design, build, test and commissioning, and / or maintenance.
• Hold RPEQ status in Queensland (Brisbane based candidates)
• Meets Rail Safety Worker requirements for the role.
• Excellent communication skills with a track record of engaging with stakeholders across a project/scope of works.
