Principal Environmental Scientist/Consultant Mining - Newcastle NSW

Our Global Mining Group provides integrated engineering and environmental services to the mining industry, with clients that include mining companies, consultants, engineering firms, and financial institutions. The Mining Group is coordinated through a network of mining specialists located in North America, Latin America and EMEA & APAC (Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia and Asia Pacific) regions, providing a series of unique service packages that cover environment, mine design, operation and waste management, and closure and rehabilitation.
 
We are seeking a Leader in Mine Environment (including Mine Closure) services to deliver mine environment and closure solutions to our clients and grow our business in line with our business plan and strategy.   The successful person will have a track record in building business, working within teams, and have experience in mining operations.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

• In collaboration with senior members of the Golder Mining team build a mine environment service in line with our 2018 Mining Environment Business Plan. 
• Deliver leading practice consulting services to internal and external clients in the areas of environmental impact assessment, management systems, due diligence and auditing, and mine closure. 
• Leadership of multidisciplinary teams to develop winning proposals and deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to client and Golder’s standards
• Work collaboratively with other senior members of the Golder Mining team to undertake business development, develop and maintain relationships with a broad client base
• Establish linkages with other business units to support and enhance service delivery

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant Degree within Environmental Science or Engineering
• Professional Registration
• Experience at a consulting firm
• Project Management Skills
• Demonstrated business development experience
