Randstad are working exclusively with a power engineering consultancy that pride themselves on delivering quality projects across Australia. We are currently advertising an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Draft to join this national consultancy. This group provides specialist services across the generation, transmission and distribution space for power utilities, local government authorities, construction and other industries.

The business will become a key player in the delivery of Distribution assets, likely projects include greenfield and brownfield substations, with related aerial and underground line design. The Distribution design team is primarily responsible for the provision of design and design management services required to support the planning, scoping, estimating and delivery of a wide range of project types in SA and interstate.

Duties:

• Support substation secondary system design;
• Design and produce electrical design drawings for HV Substations, specifically Secondary and automation systems.
• Work closely with engineers to ensure all deliverables are produced in accordance with the project expectations and safety in design requirements.
• Proficiently produce design drawings in a timely manner using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Ensure electrical design drawings for engineering project works comply with statutory and regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed drawings for projects and ensure work complies with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works.
• End to end design; from initial concept drawings to completing as built.
• Ensure electrical design drawings for engineering projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Liaise with Engineers to establish design criteria and ensuring project goals are met.
• Contribute to electrical design reviews.
• Coordinate electrical designers to ensure that drawing deliverables are produced on time.

Requirements:

• Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering;
• Minimum 5 years related experience;
• Demonstrate an understanding of the necessary Australian Standards relating to HV substation design;
• Experience working with Power Utilities;
• Demonstrated experience working for South Australian projects would be advantageous;
• Experience in primary and secondary substation design - 11kV to 330kV;
• Knowledge of protection schemes and IEC61850;
• Knowledge of secondary plant technologies and equipment;
• Motivated team player with the ability to work autonomously;
• Highly developed leadership and communication skills;
• Australian Resident.
