Iplex Pipelines is one of the largest pipe and fittings manufacturing businesses in Australia with manufacturing and distribution capabilities in all states.

The Role:
We currently have a vacancy for a Process Engineer at our Reservoir worksite. The purpose of this role is to provide technical support and expertise to the Iplex Group. Reporting to the National Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing improvement projects to address throughput improvement, scrap reduction & weight reduction. This is a fairly autonomous role based primarily at our Reservoir plant, with some travel to our sites across Australia. To begin you will have some national responsibilities, and these will likely expand as the role evolves.

Qualifications and Skills:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Degree qualified in mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering.
  • An in depth knowledge and experience of plastics processing plants and their operation.
  • An understanding of the process of bulk material mixing, blending and conveying systems would be advantageous
  • An understanding of PVC pressure, non-pressure, foam core and multilayer extrusion tooling, design and application.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Proven experience in project management
  • A good understanding of the Australian standards for Machine Guarding 
  • The ability to provide creative and effective support at all levels, and to respond quickly to the needs of a 24 hour per day plant.
  • A hands-on approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Experience in negotiation with, and management of engineering contractors.
  • A strong team ethic, with the ability to provide specific direction as and when required.
  • Excellent computer literacy, proficient in AutoCAD & MS Office suite
