About the Role
As electronics design engineer, your role will involve carrying out and leading the electronics design on a range of electronic sports technologies and consumer products, from concept development through to manufacture. Reporting to the R&D Team Leader, you will work collaboratively across disciplines, and closely with electronics design consultants as required. The ability to communicate and work in a team, while recognising how design decisions affect the overall product and end customer is essential.
This is a role for someone with a passion for sport and innovative product development. You will be able to think outside the box without fear of failure, with both ambition and a highly professional work ethic. You won’t take yourself too seriously, and will be able to contribute to building a culture of excellence and enjoyment in our company.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Your tasks will include:
- Assisting with the development of product design requirements, schedules and milestones.
- Electronics design, PCB layout and schematic capture.
- Hardware development, prototype, test and evaluation.
- Complete product verification and validation.
- Development and implementation of manufacturing test systems.
- Product compliance research and testing.
- Manufacturing and supply chain support.
Essential Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience and skills in the following areas:
- 5 – 10 years’ experience in electronic product design.
- Experienced in design for manufacture and test.
- Altium eCAD - Schematic & PCB development.
- Management of external consultants and suppliers.
- Embedded C - Code development based on small micro-controllers.
- Real time embedded control.
- Circuit simulation.
- Embedded micro-controller design.
- Hot air re-flow & soldering skills.
- Practical test & debug, using lab equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators etc.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience in RF development - 433MHz - 2.4GHz.
- Electrical & RF Compliance experience.
- Knowledge of primary & secondary battery chemistries.
- LED Characterisation.
- Visual C# - Windows application development.
- Experience in design for harsh outdoor environments, with vibration and impact loadings
