Element Engineering Australia is a fast growing engineering firm helping other innovators, innovate.

With many high profile clients and new, large and exciting projects, EEA is looking for new, ambitious candidates to help us take our business, and our clients designs, to the next level.

EEA requires 1x Junior-Mid Structural Engineer for a minimum of 6 months who possesses the aptitude and drive to help certify and bring a number of structural products to market using structural engineering principles & knowledge.

With multiple projects involving the development and certification of a unique, structural building systems, EEA requires a structural engineer who is interested in learning & understanding these systems alongside the existing mechanical engineering team to help further develop them. This position will involve developing a sound understanding of BCA requirements as needed to achieve product certification and thinking outside the box to help with future developments. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting in the coordination of required product tests at a range of test facilities as per certification requirements.

EEA has already laid the groundwork taking these structural products to market with our clients, and will provide training as required to bring the candidate up to speed with our unique processes.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Be a fast learner, whilst also bringing their own unique engineering flair to the role
• Have a strong understanding of structural engineering principles and apply these as necessary
• Have existing experience in working with the Builders Code of Australia
• Have the ability to interpret Australian and International Standards and quickly recall relevant information across relevant standards
• Be highly motivated to learn EEA’s specific techniques tailored to our client experience
• Possess the appropriate communication skills to work and interface closely with clients as required
• Be autonomous and also able to collaborate within a team
• Be able to show off your portfolio and tell us why you really want to become a core member of EEA

It would be desirable but not essential for the candidate to:

• Have some experience with the Codemark Certification scheme

The candidate must possess the following personal skills:

• A desire to grow with the company and become a leader in their chosen speciality
• Fluent with reading and writing in English
• Be punctual, have a sense of urgency and have the desire to go above and beyond when required
• Be able to work well in an open plan team environment
• Have a sense of humour, and positively contribute to team culture

The job role is open to qualified Structural Engineers (graduates included) who are available to work full time.

Job role will operate out of our Malaga Corporate Headquarters, so ability to commute to and from our office is essential.

Contract role, with probation period.
