What are we looking for?

Due to continuing strong business and growth opportunities, we are seeking an accomplished and transformative Principal Traffic & Transport Engineer to join our high-performing, collaborative and enthusiastic team. You will focus on transport planning, traffic engineering and public transport projects whilst leading the delivery of major bodies of work, mentor your team, and work closely with senior management to develop the business and assist in its continuing growth and success to support the projects of our growing team in Melbourne.

Your role will include:

• Performing the required activities associated with projects (investigation, analysis and design) in line with client and Arcadis specifications, national standards and codes of practice which will include:
  • Providing technical leadership, direction, mentoring and specialist advice in the areas of transport modelling and planning to your team members and key internal and external partners;
  • Leading and promoting Arcadis capability and brand in the traffic engineering and transport planning field;
  • Leveraging your existing industry connections and experience to win and deliver project work;
  • Utilising your professional reputation as a source of competitive advantage;
  • Demonstrating local application on transport projects in Victoria; and
  • Sound traffic management and engineering knowledge with demonstrable passion for traffic engineering and transport planning principles and standards.
• Technical leadership, where you will play a key role in leading the preparation of proposals, project management, stakeholder and community consultation and business development for public and private sector clients.

What we are looking for?

You will have:

• At least 10 years’ experience including relevant engineering degree with chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation, post-grad qualifications are an advantage;
• Extensive knowledge of the Melbourne market and experience in managing wide-ranging traffic and transport projects, from large-scale, multi-disciplinary programs to small, localised work across a broad spectrum of clients;
• Demonstrate technical, commercial and delivery acumen coupled with experience seeking and securing new opportunities;
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally, and the ability to manage and mentor teams.
